Bogus Beliefs is anecdotal nonsense that most of us have grown up believing. Perhaps you've heard someone say, "Judge not, lest ye be judged." Or, "Aunt Mabel is up in heaven looking down at you." How about this one: Christians must be involved in politics and vote!
Some of these beliefs are taken out of their scriptural context, such as the one claiming that we're not allowed to judge. Some come from hand-me-down beliefs. Still others are absolute nonsense that not only have no Bible support, but actually oppose what scripture teaches.
For the most part, Bogus Beliefs avoids doctrines that some churches cling to. Instead, I've focused on issues that many of us in modern society struggle with. Are we reincarnated? Does God speak to us today? Is Jesus Christ the only way into heaven, as He claims?
If you don't believe in anything, you open yourself up to believing everything. Life is too short, and the cemetery gates are fast approaching. It's time to do a gut check, before that roller coaster we call LIFE flings us through death's doors and into eternity. Is what you believe resting on the bedrock of scripture, or is it all bogus?
